Network ID Final Pass

Here is an updated version of my Network ID for The Rock Rebellion. I added lens flares, blurred background and increased the gamma and lighting effects to reduce the amount of darkness.

Network Promo Concepts

Toonami

My first Idea for the 10 second Station Promo is for Toonami. It no longer exists but when it did, it was a cartoon day part for cartoon network where they would show some of their more adult shows like dragonball Z, Naruto, Inuyasha etc.

I really like the idea of making a space ship interior and making a character and animating it. Ultimately I really want to do Character animation and short films with my career as opposed to solely network design.

Shot breakdown:
Frame 1: Computer AI announces it is receiving an "Exclusive Package" which is referring to the broadcasting for tonights show on Toonami.

Frame 2: A space ship arrives in the hanger

Frame 3: A Dark figure is walking down a futuristic space ship hallway heading towards the viewer.

Frame 4: The AI announces that the package has been received and is uploading to Tom(Toonami's host) and Tom is still walking while viewing the shows on a hologram projector. Clips of the shows characters will be quickly displayed.

Frame 5: Tom enters the main console room and greets the AI.

Frame 6: As Tom hits a few buttons, The "Only on Toonami" tag shows up on screen.

G4TV

My second idea is to do something with G4TV and how they are an all games channel. I want it to go through game history starting with pong and then transitioning to some more current graphical games with some more typographic design elements in the promo.

This concept is the one I am thinking of doing due to time restraints and I would like to incorporate more design and animation into this one.

Shot Breakdown:

Frame 1: It starts out with a 3D representation of PONG. a classic video game staple.

Frame 2: As we fly towards PONG, the view shifts to a more 3D view.

Frame 3:A ship flies out from behind the camera and takes the viewer along as it blasts at space invader.

Frame 4: The space invader blows up in a classic 16 Bit explosion as the viewer flys through it.

Frame 5: we are now following a missile as it flies towards a reticle targeting the word "TV".

Frame 6: As it explodes we see the word "For Gamers" covered in a forcefield.

Frame 7: The viewer rotates around the "For Gamers" to reveal "By Gamers" which then gets crushed by a block which makes up the G4TV Logo.

Station ID Animation First Pass

Here is the first pass to my Station ID animation for my "Rock Rebellion" network. I spent a total of 4 weeks working on this. All of the modeling, lighting, rendering and post production was done by me. I'm very proud of my animation and am actually going to improve it slightly. Dan Hopen thought it might be too dark to really see all of it, so im going to update it and post it here when its ready but for now enjoy this "semi" final animation.

Second animatic plus stills

Heres a still shot rendered from cinema 4D of a guitar that is in my network ID animation. Everything you see is modeled, textured and lit by me. Leave any comments below!

Oh yeah and heres the second animatic...

Animation studies

Here are two animation studies I did to reinforce some of cinema 4D's animation tools. The first one is the PSR constraint.

This second animation is a motion system study. The motion system is an extremely flexible and valuable animation tool. Essentially you can set up these animations and mix them to create custom, interpolated animations.

5 Second Animation

Here's a quick 5 Second animation done for class using Cinema 4D. Im just getting used to using C4D and the tools available. More animations to come!

Station ID Concept and Research

Our first project  is to make a Station ID using cinema 4D. So to start out I came up with a list of different themes that I like that might make good station ID's while also being fun to make.

Pirate Network
I thought a pirate themed network might be a fun idea so I came up with some storyboard sketches and reference images.

These renders are just reference to what I think I want my station ID to look like in terms of Level of detail and aesthetics.

Time Travel Channel

This channel I thought would be an interesting interplay between the future, present and past shows. I love the idea of something mechanical and sci-fi at the same time so I envisioned a machine from something out of the 1860's with lots of gears and rotating parts with a great sci-fi plasma effect.

Rock Channel

This station is more of a music channel similar to MTV but only with rock music. For my concept, I wanted to show the stage and the intensity of a rock show with all the great music and atmospheric effects like pyrotechnics and laser shows.

Ninja News Network

For this station ID I wanted something a little more fantasy and went with ninjas! Im staying away from characters for this project so unfortunately they are only objects and not humans.
